Are you interested in Military Vehicles? What about vintage vehicle restoration? How about
getting your hands greasy? Do you enjoy driving your vehicle and showing it to the public?
If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then this is the Website for you. If you are restoring a vehicle we can often offer help with research
(8.2K image) and reference details. Often you will find other members that own, or have owned, or
driven your particular vehicle in the Armed Forces, and know every nook, quirk, and shortcut of your
vehicle. There are many members with vehicles undergoing restoration, and to help those persons we
have a wants & sales page to enable them to trace that elusive
missing bit. Also to help trace or sell spare parts and equipment, a publication known as 'The
Greensheet' (because is printed on sheets of green paper) is sent to members each quarter along
with the Windscreen.
If you live in the West Country and you feel like coming along to one of our Club meetings,
they are held on the third Wednesday in the month. For nonmembers wanting to join or just find out
more about us the address for the meetings is
Who are we? We are the Devon Area of the Military Vehicle Trust,
an organisation comprising of enthusiasts dedicated to researching,
restoring, running and to showing vintage and veteran military vehicles. You do not have to own
a vehicle to join us, all you need is an interest in things military.
Some of our members have parabikes, and one has
a field hospital.
Our oldest vehicle at present is a mobile field
kitchen that dates from November 1914 and is horse drawn. We have a number of vehicles that
date from the First World War as well as 1930's and 1940's
(a page of thumbnail pictures) as well as Land Rovers and Bedfords from the 1950's to th present day. If you are
interested in joining, you can do this by faxing the membership application form (see the link
below) to the membership secretary. You can also EMail him direct (also see the link
below). You will get four copies of the Club's magazine, 'The Windscreen' (just something for
you to look through) per year, plus many other benefits. In the UK there is a branch of the
Trust near you, from us down in the West Country to the north of Scotland. Elsewhere in Europe
we can put you in touch with our sister organisations in the EU. and the rest of the World, as
far apart as Canada and New Zealand.
The Quarterly report lets you see what happened during the previous
quarter and what's on is a guide to the coming months.
The Smugglers, Steamer Quay, Totnes, Devon.
